GTFS block transfers (also known as in-seat transfers) are now included in the weekly GTFS Timetable release. To support improved customer journeys, Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is incorporating data about Metro Train connections and transfers to create a more informed experience for passengers using whichever third-party app they prefer to use.
Have you ever been told by a journey planning app to get off at Flinders Street Station just to be informed to get back on the same train? DTP knows this can be a confusing experience and cause frustration or apprehension for passengers on their journey. DTP wants to be able to provide better information to ensure passengers can get to their destination with confidence.

DTP is continuing to demonstrate its commitment to continuously improve existing datasets and release new information to support the State Government's Open Data policy and objectives.
